Thank you for choosing our handmade pieces! With a little love, your jewellery will stay beautiful for years. Here's how to care for each metal.

General Tips (for all metals)

Last on, first off — put your jewellery on after perfume, lotion, hairspray, and makeup, and take it off before bed, showering, swimming, or exercising.
Avoid contact with: water, sweat, chlorine, salt water, household cleaners, and harsh chemicals.
Store properly: keep pieces in a dry, airtight pouch or a sealed zip-lock bag, away from humidity and direct sunlight. Store separately so they don't scratch each other.
Wipe after wear with a soft, dry cloth to remove oils and moisture.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time — it's a normal reaction to air and moisture, not a defect.

To clean: gently rub with a soft polishing cloth or a microfibre cloth. For deeper tarnish, use warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, rinse, and pat dry completely.
Avoid: abrasive cleaners, toothpaste, and paper towels (they can scratch).
Tip: wearing your silver often actually helps prevent tarnish — your skin's natural oils keep it shiny!

Gold Filled

Gold filled jewellery has a thick layer of real gold bonded to a base metal, making it durable and long-lasting with proper care.

To clean: use warm water with a drop of mild dish soap and a soft cloth. Gently rub, rinse with clean water, and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
Avoid: polishing cloths designed for silver (they can be too abrasive), and any chemical jewellery dips.
Tip: gold filled does not flake or peel like plated jewellery — but keeping it dry and chemical-free will preserve its glow for many years.

Bronze (with Protective Coating)

Our bronze jewellery is made to last. Bronze is a strong, timeless metal that ages beautifully — developing its own warm character and depth over time, making each piece uniquely yours.

To help preserve its original shine, our bronze pieces are finished with a special protective coating that helps prevent tarnish. However, because bronze is a natural living metal, some tarnishing may still occur over time — and that's completely normal and easy to fix!

To remove tarnish at home

Mix warm water with a small drop of mild dish soap.
Gently rub the piece with a soft cloth or soft-bristled toothbrush.
For tougher tarnish, dip a soft cloth in a mix of equal parts lemon juice and water (or a tiny bit of baking soda paste), and gently rub the tarnished area.
Rinse with clean water and pat completely dry with a soft cloth.

To re-coat at home (optional)

Once your bronze is clean and completely dry, you can apply a thin layer of clear nail polish over the surface to restore the protective barrier. Let it dry fully before wearing.

Apply in thin, even strokes to avoid a cloudy or sticky finish.
Re-apply every few months or whenever you notice the coating wearing down.
Note: nail polish is a great temporary solution. For a longer-lasting option, jewellery-specific sealants like ProtectaClear are also available.
